Discovering historic boats in Europe

On a recent vacation in France I visited local marinas when staying in various towns. I discovered some very interesting boats like the s/v Santana in Antibes and a host of famous and historic designs in the Marseilles port.

I sent a letter to the editor of Latitude 38, the sailing magazine of the Bay Area, which I still read religiously, and they published my letter with more commentary. You can read and enjoy the article here: https://www.latitude38.com/lectronic/another-west-coast-classic-yacht-discovered-in-europe/

Be sure to visit marinas on your landlocked vacations and perhaps you'll discover some gems floating on the water too.
